Israel Water Works Association is an Agricultural Cooperative Society Ltd. which was founded in 1954 with the express purpose of achieving greater efficiency in the use of water, as well as aiming to improve and enhance the water systems of the Association's customers and water consumers in general, train management and operations personnel, promote and improve
the technology in addition to increasing the knowledge of operations and management of the water supply system, irrigation, exploitation of wastewater and the reclamation of effluents.
The Association, whose members include many rural towns and villages (kibbutzim and moshavim) as well as water organizations, serves as their professional representative in various water groups.

- Adjusting irrigation methods, irrigation systems and complementary equipment – filters, water meters, monitoring and automation systems.
- Marking out infrastructures for computerized mapping and updating maps for planning, privatization, parcellation needs.
- Checking the condition of water reservoirs to ensure they comply with the Water Commissioners' demands.
- The Association participates in the various committees for standardization at the Standards Institute of Israel and is involved in standardization processes, surveillance and checking of equipment and systems connected with water.
- The Association represents its members at the various official state authorities such as the Water Commissioners and the Ministry of Agriculture.
- Participates in research work, development, initiatives and implementation of systems for achieving greater efficiency in water usage.
- Training water engineering technicians, managers of water and sewage systems in agriculture and municipal authorities in addition to professional training for the operators of water and sewage systems.
- Development of devices and systems for preventing blockages in irrigation systems as well as for determining water quality and identifying the causes of the blockages.
- Develops an information center to facilitate the following:
- Remote control identification of water quality
- Remote control diagnosis of the causes of blockages in the system
- Issuing instructions for maintaining water systems to help prevent blockages in
irrigation systems.
